Philippine Freediving Team 2019 (from left to right) Aldric Suan, Gen Abanilla, Dorina Doerr, Martin Zapanta, Wei Zosa, Carlo Navarro
The Philippine Freediving Team is composed of dedicated Filipino freedivers from around the country. These freedivers are the top three male and female athletes from the AIDA Philippine rankings. The rankings are based from the points earned by every Filipino freediver who has participated in an official AIDA event. The team and its members seek to encourage the development of freediving among Filipinos both recreationally and competitively.
All athletes are expected to represent themselves, their families, the Philippine Freediving Team (PFT) with honesty, integrity and character, whether it be athletically or socially.
Participation on PFT is a privilege, not a right, and should be treated as such. It has benefits and offers exciting opportunities, but brings with it a responsibility to be positive and effective members of the team.
As an athlete, you are expected to:
-
Offer your best physical and mental effort 100% of the time.
-
Respect the time and effort that your teammates are putting in. Make coming to practice a priority, arrive on time, and come with a positive attitude, alert and ready to learn and contribute.
-
Respect the competition officials and other freedivers at all times.
-
Take responsibility for your actions during a competition and accept consequences appropriately.
-
Take care of your body, practice good nutrition, and come into the season in good physical shape.
-
Abstain from the use of illegal drugs and tobacco.
-
Abstain from the excessive alcohol use especially during the season.
-
Treat others the same way you would like to be treated.
Athletes who do not conform to the Code of Conduct will be held accountable and be subject to consequences for their actions, which consequences may include, but are not limited to: an admonishment, suspension from the team or expulsion from the team.
